About Spanish
Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world, and it is the first or second language of more than 400 million people.
Spanish is the official language in over 20 countries, the most speakers being in the USA, Mexico, and Spain, but it is also predominant across Central America, South America, and also in parts of the Caribbean, i.e. Puerto Rico. It is worth pointing out that Spanish is now in the ascendancy across the USA, and many American businesses are very much aware of the importance of this spreading language.
If you can speak Spanish you can also probably understand Italian, and to a lesser extent Portuguese.
You can use Spanish in more countries of the world, than any other language other than English. In other words, with an ability to converse in both Spanish and English, you will be able to communicate and understand the native language in perhaps more than half of the world!
There are several dialects and varieties of Spanish across the world.
In Spain, Castellano is spoken throughout the majority of Spain, with Catalan being centred around Barcelona in the north eastern region. There are also several other dialects in Spain.
Spanish is a logical and well structured language, based largely on Latin, so there is a degree of commonality between the sources of many English and Spanish words.
Giving Your Child A Gift Of A Lifetime
Research has shown that children of a young age are not only very receptive to learning a second language, but also this exposure to a second language is more likely to lead to better pronunciation and fluency in that language than children who start later. It is also widely accepted that learning a second language can have wider benefits, such as improving confidence with communication and informing children of other cultures. Culture is a vital part of language learning and we introduce children to different music, customs and life-styles.
